## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT, UPON LANDING RUNWAY 18 AT D95, HE FLARED TOO SOON, BALLOONED AND WAS BLOWN OFF RUNWAY CENTERLINE BY A GUST OF WIND. ATTEMPTS TO RETURN TO RUNWAY CENTER USING RUDDER WAS FRUITLESS AS HE HAD EXITED THE RUNWAY AND RUN INTO THE BANK OF PLOWED SNOW AT THE EDGE. AT THAT POINT HE HAD APPLIED THE BRAKES, STILL ATTEMPTING TO RECOVER WHEN THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER, STRIKING THE SPINNER AND THE PROP IN THE GROUND. AS THE AIRCRAFT WENT VERTICAL, IT STRUCK BOTH WINGTIPS IN THE GROUND, SPUN AROUND AND CAME TO REST UPRIGHT, FACING WEST.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
