## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 12/29/2004, A PIPER PA-32RT-300, N300WE PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA O^ MADE A HARD LANDING AT FULTON COUNTY AIRPORT, NY RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND THE AIRFRAME. THE FLIGHT WAS ENROUTE FROM CHESTER, PA (40N) TO ALBANY, NY (ALB) WHEN IT ENCOUNTERED UNFORCAST ICING CONDITIONS. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ ELECTED TO DIVERT TO FULTON COUNTY AIRPORT (NY0) DUE TO ICE ACCUMULATION. ICE ACCUMULATION CAUSED A REDUCTION IN LIFT FOR WHICH THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ WAS UNABLE TO COMPENSATE. THIS RESULTED IN A HARD LANDING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ OR HIS THREE (3) PASSENGERS. THIS CASE IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
