As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS LOW TIME, (2.0) HOURS IN THE CESSNA-172. THE CESSNA 172 WAS APPROXIMATELY 15 LBS. UNDER GROSS TAKEOFF WEIGHT. PILOT ROTATED AT 55 KTS. THE CESSNA-172 NEVER BECAME AIRBORNE. THE 152 WAS TURNED 180 DEGREES, AND THE 172 WAS TURNED 90 DEGREES AND SLID SIDEWAYS THROUGH A SPLIT-RAIL FENCE AND IMPACTED TWO CARS IN THE AIRPORT PARKING LOT. THE 172'S THROTTLE WAS RETARDED PRIOR TO IMPACT WITH THE 152. THE CESSNA-152 WAS IMPACTED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. NO INDICATION OF BRAKING WAS PRESENT. BOTH AIRCRAFT WERE DESTROYED. THE PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT-FRONT SEAT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC05LA034](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC05LA034), Dec 30, 2004: Cessna 172R (N9962F), Smoketown, PA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during takeoff, which resulted in a collision with a parked airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
