## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/04/2005 ABOUT 1230 DST, CE-172 N365SP, PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (PILOT NO. 1), LEFT POMPANO AIRPORT, FL ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT WITH FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (PILOT NO. 2), AS HIS PASSENGER. LATER ON, ABOUT 1432 HRS., PILOT NO. 1 MADE AN ATTEMPT TO LAND N365SP, AT AIRGLADES AIRPORT, CLEWISTON, FL. THE LANDING WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ROLLING OFF THE RUNWAY WHEN PILOT NO. 2 TOOK OVER THE FLIGHT CONTROLS TO CORRECT THE LANDING. HE ADDED FULL POWER TO RECOVER BUT THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE RUNWAY INTO A DITCH. BOTH PILOTS WERE UNINJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA05CA048](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA05CA048), Jan 4, 2005: Cessna 172SP (N365SP), Clewiston, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing rollout which resulted in the airplane veering off the runway and colliding into an airport sign.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
