## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A PART 91 RE-POSITIONING FLIGHT FROM FALKNER, MS, ON 01/05/2005, AT 23:03 LOCAL, THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED SEVERAL TREES, TERRAIN AND WAS DESTROYED. THE PILOT WAS FATALLY INJURED. THE FLIGHT WAS VFR, HOWEVER, IFR METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED, NO WEATHER BRIEFING, WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY, AND DETERIORATING WEATHER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL05FA038](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL05FA038), Jan 6, 2005: Aerospatiale AS350-D (N350RM), Falkner, MS, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's improper decision to attempt VFR flight into known instrument flight conditions and failure to maintain altitude clearance resulted in an in-flight collision with trees and the ground.

## Other reports on N350RM (2)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
