## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS WAS AN INSTRUCTIONAL NIGHT TRAINING FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS MAKING A LOW SHALLOW APPROACH TO RUNWAY 35 AT DECATUR MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KLUD) WHEN IT STRUCK AND SEVERED 2 ELECTRICAL POWER LINES NEAR THE SOUTH BOUNDARY OF THE AIRPORT. THE RESULTING DRAG OF THE POWER LINES SETTLED THE AIRCRAFT JUST SHORT OF THE BARBED WIRE FENCE OF THE AIRPORT PROPERTY. THE AIRCRAFT DESTROYED THE BARBED WIRE FENCE AS IT WENT THROUGH ON ITS WAY TO THE TAXIWAY FOR RUNWAY 35 WHERE THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED. THIS REPORT IS CLOSED.
