## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT PLANNED A 20 MINUTE FLIGHT FROM CHICO, CALIFORNIA TO YUBA CITY AIRPORT, CALIFORNIA. AIRCRAFT RAN OUT OF GAS DURING THE DESCENT AND LANDED IN THE RIVER SHORT OF THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO SWIM TO THE SHORE WITHOUT INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX05LA068](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX05LA068), Jan 15, 2005: Cessna T210L (N5177V), Yuba City, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's inadequate preflight preparation and failure to verify the fuel supply, which resulted in fuel exhaustion and subsequent loss of engine power.

## Other reports on N5177V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19810525081819I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19810525081819I), May 25, 1981: Cessna T210L (N5177V), Las Vegas, NV, Minor damage. Unable to extend landing gear. Landed wheels up on foamed runway. Hydraulic valve assembly jammes by o ring residue

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
