## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 01/22/05 AT APPROXIMATELY 18:03 CST N878CM, PIPER AIRCRAFT, MODEL 31-325, MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT HOUSTON'S HOBBY AIRPORT (KHOU) WITH AN UNSAFE NOSE GEAR INDICATION. ON LANDING ROLL OUT THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT STATED THAT ATTEMPTS TO RECYCLE THE GEAR AND TO MANUALLY EXTENDED THE GEAR FAILED TO LOCK THE NOSE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE PILOT AND 1 PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT DISCLOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC, GEAR UP HOSE ASSEMBLY HAD FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
