## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS ENROUTE FROM MISSISSIPPI TO COLORADO WHEN HE RAN OUT OF FUEL NEAR MCALESTER, OK (KMLC). PILOT WAS IN CONTACT WITH MCALESTER UNICOM WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AND REPORTED HIS INTENDED LANDING FIELD. PILOT TOLD FBO OPERATOR AND OTHER PRIVATE CITIZENS AT SCENE THAT HE WAS NOT HURT AND THAT HE HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL. PILOT LEFT THE SCENE BEFORE FAA IIC ARRIVED. AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED DURING THE HARD LANDING IN A FIELD JUST SOUTH OF KMLC. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE FUEL IN THE TANKS DURING THE INVESTIGATION BY THE IIC. THERE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY OTHER PRE-IMPACT DAMAGE THAT MAY HAVE LED TO A FORCED LANDING. PILOT STATED THAT KMLC WAS HIS INTENDED FUEL STOP.
