## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 1-30-05 N642SW, A PIPER AIRCRAFT MODEL PA-24-250, WAS CONDUCTING A LOCAL PILOT PROFICIENCY FLIGHT. THE PILOT STATED THAT DURING THE FLIGHT HE ATTEMPTED A LANDING BUT FELT THE LEFT MAIN GEAR LEG RETRACTING. HE ABORTED THE LANDING AND ATTEMPTED TO LOWER AND LOCK THE GEAR. HE WAS UNABLE TO GET A GREEN LIGHT. HE MADE A LOW PASS AT MYF 28R AND THE TOWER CONFIRMED THE LEFT GEAR WAS NOT EXTENDED. THE PILOT SUCCESSFULLY LANDED GEAR UP 28R MYF. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE, AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE LEFT MAIN GEAR TELEFLEX CABLE HOUSING, LOCATED IN THE LEFT WHEEL WELL, HAD SEPARATED FROM THE ARMORED CABLE. M OR D WAS COMPLETED.
