## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THE GO PART OF THE 3RD TOUCH-N-GO PILOT TRANSFERRED CONTROL OF A/C TO SECOND PILOT. SECOND PILOT HAD BOTH FEET ON LEFT RUDDER PEDAL. A/C STARTED TO TURN LEFT AND AS IT DID SECOND PILOT APPLIED WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS RIGHT RUDDER, BUT WAS ACTUALLY LEFT RUDDER. BEFORE EITHER PILOT COULD TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION, THE A/C DEPARTED LEFT SIDE OF R/W AND HIT R/W DISTANCE SIGN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA05CA064](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA05CA064), Jan 31, 2005: Grumman American AA-5A (N9572U), Ocala, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot-rated passengers improper use of the rudder control and his failure to maintain directional control resulting in a loss of control on the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
