## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED DURING INITIAL SOLO, AFTER TWO SUCCESSFUL LANDINGS, HE ATTEMPTED A POWER OFF 180-DEGREE APPROACH THAT WAS GOOD, BUT HE FLARED THE AIRCRAFT A LITTLE HIGH. HE THEN ADDED POWER TO CUSHION THE LANDING, AND THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR CONTACTED THE GROUND FIRST. THE AIRCRAFT THEN BOUNCED TO THE LEFT MAIN, THEN THE NOSE WHEEL. THE NOSE WHEEL CAME DOWN WITHOUT BEING ALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY, WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO ROLL OVER ON ITS RIGHT SIDE. NO MECHANICAL DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED ON THE AIRCRAFT. CFI WHO SIGNED OFF STUDENT FOR SOLO: ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05LA044](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05LA044), Feb 3, 2005: Smuz RAF 2000 GTX SE (N26AV), Puyallup, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudged flare followed by an oscillation which damaged the aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
