## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD CIRCLED THE LAKE SEVERAL TIMES TO CHECK THE WATER CONDITIONS AND TO SEE IF ANY BOATS WERE OUT ON THE WATER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS APPROACHING FROM THE WEST END OF THE LAKE HEADING EAST, AND HE HAD A GLASSY WATER LANDING IN MIND ON FINAL AND JUST AS HE WAS ABOUT TO ADD POWER THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE WATER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE THOUGHT THAT HE WAS APPROXIMATELY AT TREE LEVEL AT THIS TIME, BUT WAS LOWER THAN HE HAD THOUGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
