## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE LANDING AT ANOKA COUNTY AIRPORT (ANE), FOLLOWING A VFR FLIGHT FROM PARK RAPIDS, MN (PKD), PILOT REPORTED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE FAILED ON LANDING ROLL-OUT, CAUSING HIM TO VEER RIGHT, OFF THE RUNWAY, AND DAMAGE THE LEFT WING TIP AND LEFT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER TIP. NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT, THE SOLE OCCUPANT, WERE REPORTED. PILOT WAS ON A VFR FLIGHT PLAN, BUT HAD RECEIVED NO WEATHER BRIEF.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05LA064](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05LA064), Feb 3, 2005: Cessna A185F (N1767R), Minneapolis, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: A failure of the tail wheel locking mechanism which resulted in the pilot's inability to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
