As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT 1210 ON FEBRUARY 14, 2005, ^PRIVACY DATA^, PILOT, ACCIDENTED IN ISABELA ON FEBRUARY 12, 2005, WHEN HIS HELICOPTER A REVOLUTION MINI-500 CRASHED IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, CALLED TO REPORT THE DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT ACCORDING TO HIS RECOLLECTION OF THE FACTS. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ REPORTED THAT, AFTER HAVING PERFORMED FOUR CIRCLING MANEUVERS AROUND THE ISABELA TOWN, HE HEARD AND FELT THE ENGINE REVVING DOWN; ADDITIONALLY, A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND ALTITUDE. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA^ HE WAS HOLDING AN ALTITUDE OF 600 FEET, CRUISING AT 60 KNOTS AND A RPM OF APPROXIMATELY 6200. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC05LA032](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC05LA032), Feb 12, 2005: Johnson Revolution Mini 500 (N38DJ), Isabela, PR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power during cruise flight for an undetermined reason, which resulted in an autorotation and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
