## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT AT A PRIVATE AIRPORT 3 NM WEST OF OWASSO, OK THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS DEMONSTRATING A QUICK STOP FOLLOWED BY A DESCENT TO LOW HOVER. FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR THEN FAILED TO PROPERLY TRANSFER THE CONTROLS TO THE STUDENT PILOT RESULTING IN SKID CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AND SUBSEQUENT DYNAMIC ROLLOVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05CA070](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05CA070), Feb 16, 2005: Robinson R22 (N322DA), Owasso, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor's failure to verify that the student had the flight controls and his delayed remedial action.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
