## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED TWELVE OAKS PRIVATE AIRPORT AND AFTER DEPARTURE PASSENGER REPORTED THAT THE PIC HAD TROUBLE REDUCING POWER AND RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT BUT WENT AROUND AFTER UNABLE TO REDUCE POWER AND STOP THE AIRCRAFT. DURING GO-AROUND (SECOND DEPARTURE) ENGINE BEGAN TO SPUTTER, AIRCRAFT COULD NOT CLIMB AND CRASHED INTO THE WOODS JUST EAST OF THE AIRPORT. THE PIC AND PASSENGER SUFFERED SERIOUS BURNS. THE FAA AND NTSB PRELIMINARY FINDINGS REVEALED THAT THE THROTTLE ROD END WAS NOT CONNECTED AT THE SERVO, AND THE CONNECTING HARDWARE WAS NOT LOCATED AT THE ACCIDENT SITE. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC05FA039](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC05FA039), Mar 2, 2005: Piper PA-32-300 (N444NM), Dunnellon, FL, destroyed. From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
