## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 7, 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 0750 PDT, A MU-300, (N975GR), PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ , LANDED AT PALOMAR AIRPORT (CRQ). UPON TOUCHDOWN, ACFT EXPERIENCED NO BRAKES. SIC ^PRIVACY ^ TURNED OFF ANTI-SKID. BRAKES WOULD STILL NOT ACTUATE. EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM WAS APPLIED RESULTING IN BOTH MAIN GEARS LOCKING. BOTH TIRES DID EXPLODE. NO FIRE OR INJURIES REPORTED. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THE COPILOT'S PEDALS WERE SOLID. PILOT'S WERE MUSHY. EVEN THOUGH COPILOT'S PEDALS WERE SOLID, MECHANIC FELT THERE WAS STILL RUDDER CONTROL. AT THE BASE OF THE PEDALS (COPILOT'S) BY THE HEEL, WERE TWO ARROWS WITH LEVERS. THE LEVER ON THE LEFT PEDAL WAS MOVED TO THE LEFT, THE LEVER ON THE RIGHT PEDAL WAS MOVED THE RIGHT. ONCE THESE LEVERS WERE MOVED THE COPILOTS PEDALS WERE MUSHY. ONCE NEW BRAKES WERE INSTALLED AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS COMPLETED. SYSTEM PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY. BRIEFED PMI FOR CUTTER AT SCOTTSDALE FSDO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
