## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N8098T LANDED ON RUNWAY 14 AT SHREVEPORT DOWNTOWN AIRPORT, LA AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP ON THE RUNWAY AND EXITED OFF THE DEPARTURE END COMING TO REST SOME DISTANCE AWAY. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED, DAMAGING THE NOSE AND FORWARD PRESSURIZATION BULKHEAD. THERE WAS A SMALL FIRE IN THE BATTERY AREA OF THE NOSE COMPARTMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05LA080](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05LA080), Mar 7, 2005: Aero Vodochody Aero. Works L-39C (N8098T), Shreveport, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudgment of airspeed and his failure to abort the landing resulting in an overrun. A contributing factor was the wet runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
