## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO THE CAPTAIN N703TS WAS AT A LANDING WEIGHT OF 20,000 LBS, AND LANDED WITHIN THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE OF RUNWAY 1, TETERBORO AT VREF +10 KTS. THE CAPTAIN FURTHER SAID THAT THE LIFT-DUMP SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED AND BRAKES WERE APPLIED, HOWEVER, THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST IN MUD ABOUT 230 FEET BEYOND THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE CAPTAIN SAID THAT THE ENGINES WERE SHUT DOWN, FLAPS WERE RAISED, AND PASSENGER OFF-LOADED VIA THE MAIN CABIN DOOR. PHYSICAL EVIDENCE INDICATES THAT THE LIFT-DUMP SYSTEM WAS NOT ACTIVE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, NO DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS WAS INCURRED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC05IA055](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC05IA055), Mar 9, 2005: British Aerospace BAE-125-700A (N703TS), Teterboro, NJ, incident, minor damage. Probable cause: The pilot in command's inadequate in-flight planning, which resulted in an overrun landing on a contaminated runway. Factors were inadequate crew coordination, gusty winds, and a slush covered runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
