## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED, "A NORMAL LANDING WAS PERFORMED AND DURING THE ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN A SLOW LEFT TURN. I ADDED A SMALL DIRECTIONAL CORRECTION WITHOUT RESPONSE AND ADDED ADDITIONAL CORRECTION UNTIL THE RIGHT RUDDER WAS AT THE CONTROL STOP AND A FULL RIGHT BRAKING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO THE LEFT AND APPROACHED THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY PAVEMENT. AT APPROXIMATELY TWO TO THREE PLANE LENGTHS PRIOR TO THE RUNWAY EDGE THE RIGHT HAND LANDING GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE RIGHT WING, TAIL SURFACE, AND PROPELLER CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. THE FORWARD SPEED AT THE TIME OF SEPARATION AND CONTACT OF THE WING WITH THE RUNWAY WAS JUST ABOVE WALKING SPEED."

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX05LA110](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX05LA110), Mar 9, 2005: Cessna A185E (N4530F), Tucson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: a loss of directional control due to the failure of unknown maintenance personnel to install the tailwheel-locking collar, and the inadequate maintenance inspection of the worn tailwheel steering arm.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
