## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT WHILE MAKING A NORMAL LANDING AT THE OPERATOR'S UNCERTIFIED AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND FLIPPED ONTO ITS BACK. THE PROPELLER, VERTICAL FIN, AND UPPER LEFT WING TIP SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE INVESTIGATION OF THE ACCIDENT REVEALED THAT THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE WAS DEFLATED DURING THE LANDING. A NAIL WAS FOUND IN THE DEFLATED TIRE. THE NAIL EXHIBITED WEAR THAT INDICATED IT WAS PRESENT DURING TAKEOFF.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05CA084](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05CA084), Mar 10, 2005: Grumman G-164A (N5327), Gilbert, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain control of the airplane during landing. A contributing factor was a deflated right main tire.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
