## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT TAXIED TO RUNWAY 25 FOR A LOCAL PRACTICE FLIGHT. AS HE COMPLETED HIS RUN UP AND TAXIED ONTO RUNWAY 25 A STRONG GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE RIGHT WING AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT OVER ON ITS BACK. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO BOTH WINGS AND THE VERTICAL FIN AND RUDDER. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA062](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA062), Mar 12, 2005: Cessna 172 (N5953A), Gooding, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for the wind conditions which resulted in a loss of control during taxi. A contributing factor was the wind gusts.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
