## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT FROM ADDISON, TX TO LANCASTER, TX UPON ENTERING UPWIND FOR LANDING ON 17 PIC INITIATED A LEFT TURN AND THE POWER FAILED TO RESPOND. EMERGENCY LANDING WAS MADE IN A FIELD. PIC STATED HE ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH TANKS AND COULD NOT RESTART, MANIFOLD PRESSURE WAS AMBIENT. AN ENGINE TEST RUN WAS CONDUCTED AT THE SALVAGE YARD AND THE ENGINE RAN VERY WELL. THE MECHANIC RUNNING THE ENGINE STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP WAS CAVITATION WHEN FIRST ATTEMPTING TO START DUE TO AIR IN THE SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM HAD AIR INDUCED INTO THE FUEL LINES AND THERE WAS NOT AMPLE TIME TO PURGE THE AIR USING THE BOOST PUMP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05CA087](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05CA087), Mar 12, 2005: Cessna TU206G (N6211Z), Lancaster, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's mismanagement of the available fuel supply, which resulted in a total loss of engine power due to fuel starvation.

## Other reports on N6211Z (1)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
