## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 21, 2005, AT 1755 EDT, A PIPER PA-34-200, N4546T, REGISTERED TO LEASAIR CLEARWATER, WAS CLEARED TO LAND AT THE ST. PETERSBURG-CLEARWATER (PIE) AIRPORT. THE PILOT SELECTED THE LANDING GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION, AND ONLY THE MAIN LANDING GEARS INDICATED THEY WERE DOWN AND LOCKED, (GREEN INDICATOR LIGHTS) NO INDICATION THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS DOWN (RED INDICATOR LIGHT). THE PILOT CYCLED THE GEAR SYSTEM SEVERAL TIMES INCLUDING A MANUAL EXTENSION AND COULD NOT GET A NOSE GEAR INDICATION. THE PILOT MADE A LOW APPROACH BY THE CONTROL TOWER TO CONFIRM THE GEAR WAS NOT EXTENDED. HE THEN LANDED WITHOUT THE NOSE GEAR, AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS MINOR, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
