## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 03/27/2005, AT 2307 UTC, PIPER, N5867P, WAS ENROUTE FROM DEER VALLEY, AZ (DVT) TO WICHITA, KS (ICT). AFTER 4 HOURS INTO THE FLIGHT THE PILOT TURNED ON THE BOOST PUMP AND SELECTED THE TIP TANKS. HE OBSERVED THE FUEL PRESSURE FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 SEC. APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE LATER, THE FUEL PRESSURE INDICATOR DROPPED TO ZERO, FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE STOPPING. AFTER SETTING THE AIRCRAFT PITCH FOR BEST GLIDE, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO REGAIN FUEL PRESSURE WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE PILOT MADE A FORCED LANDING ON COUNTY ROAD, TWO MILES EAST OF COLDWATER, KANSAS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
