## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ WAS CONDUCTING A TRAINING FLIGHT FOR A TYPE-RATING CANDIDATE IN A DC3 AIRCRAFT. AFTER SEVERAL TOUCH-AND-GO'S, THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING INTO THE RAMP AREA TO TAKE ON FUEL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SLOWED TO TAXI SPEED WITH THE TAIL ON THE GROUND WHEN A BRACKET FASTENING THE REAR LANDING GEAR BRACE ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR BROKE. THE RIGHT MAIN COLLAPSED CAUSING A PROPELLER STRIKE AND DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING TIP. ADDITIONAL DAMAGE WAS EXPERIENCED TO THE ENGINE CASTING JUST BEHIND THE PROPELLER HUB AS WELL AS TO THE WING AREA BEHIND THE RIGHT ENGINE NACELLE. THE AIRCRAFT IS REPAIRABLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
