## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 04/02/05, AT APPROXIMATELY 1430 MST, N866T, AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR BUILT AIRCRAFT, ON TAKEOFF ROLL, DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 20 AT THE LAS VEGAS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, LAS VEGAS, NEW MEXICO. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND AND HIS ONE PASSENGER RECEIVED NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR AND PROPELLER. VMC CONDITIONS PREVAILED. THE PIC BELIEVES THAT HE ENCOUNTERED A DUST DEVIL WHICH RESULTED IN A LOSS OF LIFT FOR THE AIRCRAFT. THE PIC COULD NOT RECOVER FROM THE ABRUPT DESCENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
