## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF LEFT EDGE OF RUNWAY 17 JUST AFTER LANDING. PILOT STATED HE WAS RECONFIGURING FOR A TAKEOFF AND LOOKED OVER HIS LEFT SHOULDER TO SEE THAT THE FLAPS HAD RETRACTED. IT WAS THEN THAT HE FELT THE AIRCRAFT TURN LEFT. PILOT THEN APPLIED HEAVY RIGHT RUDDER, BUT FELT AS IF AIRCRAFT MIGHT LEAN OVER ON ITS LEFT, SO HE STOPPED APPLYING RIGHT RUDDER AND ALLOWED THE AIRPLANE TO TAXI INTO A DIRECTIONAL SIGN. THE LEFT MAIN STRUT IMPACTED THE SIGN AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED INTO THE GRASSY MEDIUM BEFORE STOPPING. THE LEFT MAIN STRUT WAS DEFLECTED REARWARD CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE STRUT AND ATTACH POINTS AS WELL AS THE CONNECTED SKIN, FLIGHT CONTROL CABLES, ETC. PILOT REPORTED WINDS WERE 160 @ 8.
