ACCORDING TO THE PILOT STATEMENT AND THE PASSENGER STATEMENT, (WHO HAS A COMMERCIAL PILOT, CFI, AND HELICOPTER ROTORCRAFT RATING), THE PASSENGER MADE THE FIRST APPROACH, THEN TURNED OVER THE CONTROLS TO THE PIC. ON THE SECOND APPROACH, THE HELICOPTER SUNK BELOW THE PAD AND IMPACTED ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE. DAMAGE INCLUDED BREAKING OFF THE SKIDS, FIREWALL AND RIGHT FRONT LOWER STRUCTURE. AT THE TIME OF THIS REPORT IT IS UNKNOWN IF ADDITIONAL DAMAGE WILL BE IDENTIFIED AT DISASSEMBLY. NO INJURIES TO EITHER PARTY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN05LA068](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN05LA068), Apr 13, 2005: Enstrom F-28C (N5690K), Morrison, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain rotor RPM during the approach which resulted in a landing short of the helipad.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
