## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 14, 2005, AT 1708 EDT, A CESSNA 750, N964QS, OPERATED BY NETJETS AVIATION, DURING THE CLIMB FROM 36,000 FEET TO 40,000 FEET EXPERIENCED A NOTICEABLE ODOR, BUT NO VISIBLE SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. THE ODOR WAS IRRITATING TO THE EYES AND WAS CONCENTRATED MOSTLY IN THE COCKPIT. THE ODOR WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, THEN IT INTENSIFIED THE LAST TEN MINUTES BEFORE LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED AND LANDED AT THE GREATER INTERNATIONAL BUFFALO AIRPORT. FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN FOUND THE AIR CYCLE MACHINE FAILED. THE AIR CYCLE MACHINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
