## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 20, 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 08:20 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, A CESSNA, C172XP, N5446V, RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LOWER ENGINE COWLING AND PROPELLER AFTER RUNNING OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AT JONTE' PRIVATE AIRPORT (1500' SOD RUNWAY), GREELEYVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA. THE SOLO OCCUPANT, PRIVATE PILOT, WAS NOT INJURED. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS EXISTED AT THE TIME. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE LANDED A LITTLE FAST (75KNOTS) AND WAS UNABLE TO RETARD THE ENGINE RPM BELOW 1500RPM. THE PILOT ALSO STATED AFTER HE NOTICED THE HIGH RPM, HE PULLED THE ENGINE MIXTURE TO SLOW AND STOP THE ENGINE. ON SITE EXAMINATION OF THE ENGINE REVEALED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE CONTROLS OR FUEL INJECTOR COMPONENTS. FURTHER ENGINE EVALUATION PENDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
