## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED, WHEN INBOUND TO RUNWAY 14 AT H11, AFTER SELECTING LANDING GEAR DOWN, THE GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT (RED) REMAINED ON. THE PILOT THEN SELECTED, GEAR UP AND THEN DOWN WITH THE SAME RESULT, (NO GREEN LIGHTS WERE OBSERVED). THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO MANUALLY EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR BY CRANKING UNTIL HE COULD NO LONGER TURN THE CRANK. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE THEN PERFORMED 2 FLY BYS TO ALLOW GROUND PERSONNEL TO INSPECT GEAR LOCATION AND WAIT FOR EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT TO ARRIVE. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE SMELLED SMOKE AND THEN DECIDED TO LAND IMMEDIATELY. DURING THE LANDING THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP 5' LEFT OF THE CENTER LINE. WHEN THE A/C WAS LIFTED FROM THE RUNWAY, MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WERE ABLE TO MANUALLY CRANK THE GEAR DOWN AND INSTALL LOCKS. GEAR MOTOR FAILURE IS SUSPECTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
