## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING FLIGHT THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE TOT OVERTEMPERATURE LIGHT CAME ON. HE IMMEDIATELY LOWERED THE COLLECTIVE TO REDUCE POWER AND DECIDED TO LAND AT THE NEAREST AIRPORT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND, THE ENGINE DECELERATED TO IDLE AND AN AUTOROTATION WAS MADE TO A GRASSY AREA SHORT OF THE HELIPAD. NO DAMAGE TO THE HELICOPTER OR ANY INJURIES TO PASSENGER. INVESTIGATION INTO THE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOUND THE OUTER COMBUSTION CASE HAD CRACKED ALLOWING HOT AIR TO EXIT THE ENGINE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
