## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) 05/03/2005 - FCM ATC REPORTED AIRCRAFT N6262M, A SEA REY EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR HOME-BUILT, AMPHIBIOUS AIRCRAFT, LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL COLLAPSED INTO THE PONTOON WELL WHILE MAKING A SLOW RIGHT TURN OFF RUNWAY 28R. THEY ALSO STATED THE PILOT REQUESTED A FLY BY THE TOWER TO CHECK GEAR BEFORE LANDING, DUE TO A 'FLICKERING' GEAR DOWN INDICATION LIGHT. AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. TWO UNKNOWN PERSONS WENT TO THE AIRCRAFT, LIFTED THE LEFT WING, MANUALLY EXTENDED THE GEAR, AND PUSHED AIRCRAFT TO OWNERS HANGAR. INVESTIGATION FOUND LEFT HAND GEAR EXTENSION/RETRACTION CABLE HAD 2 BROKEN STRANDS, CAUSING BINDING AT CABLE SLEEVE, AND A NOT POSITIVE LOCK IN THE OVERCENTER MECHANISM. THE OWNER IS HAVING ALL THE GEAR EXTENSION/RETRACTION SYSTEM CABLES REPLACED. OWNER STATED HE WILL FILL OUT A MALFUNCTION OR DEFECT REPORT (FAA FORM 8010-4). PILOT STATEMENT IS ON FILE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
