## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AND FLOATED. THE AIRMAN APPLIED FULL ENGINE POWER, HOWEVER THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT SEEM TO WANT TO FLY, SO HE REDUCED THE POWER TO IDLE AND APPLIED BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE RUNWAY AND THE TIRES ENCOUNTERED SOFT TERRAIN CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT HE MAY HAVE ENCOUNTERED A SLIGHT TAILWIND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC05LA073](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC05LA073), May 7, 2005: Interstate S-1A (N37209), Palmer, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudged distance and speed, which resulted in an overrun during the landing roll, and subsequent nose over.
