## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FROM W35 (POTOMAC, BERKELY SPRINGS) AND HEADED TO 58M (CECIL COUNTY, MARYLAND), STOPPED FOR FUEL AT W54 (CARROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND). PILOT STATED FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL SHORT FINAL FOR RUNWAY 34 AT W54. A FIRE BROKE OUT ON THE FLOOR BOARD BY THE PILOT'S RIGHT FOOT. PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. PILOT NOTICED ON ROLL OUT, THE LEFT BRAKE HAD FAILED. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT FOUND THE FUEL PRESSURE LINE ATTACHMENT NUT WAS LOOSE, ALLOWING GAS TO LEAK DOWN ON THE EXHAUST PIPE. THERE WAS A HOLE BURNT THROUGH THE BELLY SKIN OF THE AIRCRAFT. LEFT BRAKE LINE AND SOME WIRING DAMAGED. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. A CONDITION INSPECTION HAD BEEN PERFORMED 7.8 HRS PREVIOUSLY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
