## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N3002J, AN ULTRAMAGIC HOT AIR BALLOON, MADE A NORMAL LANDING WITH 9 PASSENGERS ON BOARD. THE PIC, ^PRIVACY DATA^ HAD BRIEFED PASSENGERS PRIOR TO LANDING, TO FACE FORWARD, BEND THEIR KNEES AND "BRACE" THEMSELVES FOR TOUCHDOWN. THE BALLOON MADE A NORMAL LANDING, TOUCHED DOWN, BOUNCED UP LIGHTLY, TOUCHED DOWN AGAIN AND SLID TO A STOP. AN ELDERLY FEMALE PASSENGER LOST HER BALANCE AND SUFFERED A BROKEN ANKLE. SHE SUBSEQUENTLY EXPLAINED SHE EXPERIENCES "NUMBNESS" IN HER FEET AND WAS UNABLE TO BRACE HERSELF EFFECTIVELY. SHE DID NOT REVEAL THIS CONDITION PRIOR TO BEING INJURED. A SAN DIEGO POLICE DEPARTMENT INCIDENT REPORT INDICATES NO WRITTEN REPORT OR ACCIDENT REPORT WAS TAKEN, NOR WAS ANY COMPLAINT MADE AGAINST THE BALLOON PILOT BY ANY PASSENGERS.
