## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KISSIMMEE (GATEWAY) AIRPORT (KISM) AT 1558 EDT ON MAY 09, 2005 FOR AN AEROBATIC INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT SOUTH OF THE KISSIMMEE AIRPORT. THE PILOT IN COMMAND WAS A PROPERLY CERTIFICATED COMMERCIAL PILOT WHO POSSESSED A VALID CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE. THE PILOT AND STUDENT DID NOT FILE A FLIGHT PLAN, HOWEVER ORLANDO APPROACH CONTROL WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE AN ATC PLOT ON THE AIRCRAFT'S FLIGHT. THE ATC PLOT INDICATES THAT N453WA DEPARTED KISM AT 1558EDT AND CLIMBED TO 5000FT. THE AEROBATIC FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED BETWEEN 5,000FT AND 6000FT. THE LAST ATC PLOT WAS RECEIVED AT 16:16:41EDT. AT THIS TIME, THE AIRCRAFT WAS AT 3800FT, HEADING 067 DEGREES AND THE GROUND SPEED WAS 99 KNOTS. THE RIGHT WING SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND ALMOST VERTICALLY. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND AND STUDENT WERE BOTH FATALLY INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
