## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE IIC WAS AT GATE F34 OBSERVING THE MARSHALLING AND PARKING OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED ON THE CENTERLINE APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET SHORT OF THE PARKING SPOT. THE MARSHALLER BEGAN TO DIRECT THE AIRCRAFT FORWARD AND AFTER IT TRAVELLED ABOUT TEN FEET THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BAGGAGE CART WITH THE RIGHT WINGTIP. THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED AND THE MARSHALLER MOVED THE BAGGAGE CART. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN PARKED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE PIC AND THE IIC INSPECTED THE RIGHT WINGTIP AND NAVIGATION LIGHT FOR DAMAGE. THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO THE MYLAR TAPE COVERING THE WINGTIP. THE PIC MADE A LOGBOOK ENTRY AND MESA AIRLINES MAINTENANCE SIGNED IT OFF AS NO DAMAGE, IAW THE STRUCTURAL REPAIR MANUAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
