## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT STATED: AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TAKEOFF ROLL, THEN HE SIMULATED A LEFT ENGINE FAILURE WITH THE MIXTURE CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT, AT THAT TIME THE STUDENT REDUCED THE THROTTLES TO IDLE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RESTORED THE MIXTURE TO FULL RICH. THE STUDENT APPLIED RIGHT RUDDER TO PUT THE AIRCRAFT ON THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT YAWED HARD TO THE RIGHT THEN THE LEFT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. DAMAGE WAS CONFINED TO THE LEFT PROPELLER TIPS, LEFT LANDING GEAR, LANDING GEAR DOORS AND LEFT WING TIP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
