## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATES THAT APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES AFTER DEPARTING OWA, AT A CRUISING ALTITUDE OF 12,000 FEET, THE LH ENGINE SURGED, FOLLOWED BY A DECREASE IN POWER WITH THE ENGINE MONITORING SYSTEM INDICATING "ONE VERY HOT CYLINDER." ENGINE "WAS SECURED" AND A "NON EVENTFUL SINGLE ENGINE LANDING" WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN KIRKSVILLE, MO (IRK). MAINTENANCE FOUND NO COMPRESSION ON ONE CYLINDER AND EVIDENCE OF METAL CONTAMINATION IN OIL SYSTEM. INCIDENT ^PRIVACY DATA ^ IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
