## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS ESTABLISHED IN CLIMB AND HAD REACHED APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET. WITNESS STATED THAT HE SEEMED TO START A SHALLOW TURN TO THE LEFT, WHEN THE LEFT WING DROPPED, RECOVERED AND DROPPED AGAIN. THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED A ONE-TURNED SPIN, IMPACTED THE GROUND. THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY FIRE WHICH DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT WAS KILLED ON IMPACT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05LA129](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05LA129), May 21, 2005: Miller Rand Robinson KR-2 (N684LM), Galliano, LA, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airspeed which resulted in an inadvertent stall/spin during initial takeoff climb. A contributing factor was the pilot's lack of experience for the make/model airplane.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
