## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 23, 2005, AT 1454 LOCAL, A CESSNA MODEL 337, PILOTED BY A CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WITH THE OWNER ACTING AS SECOND PILOT, SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE WHILE LANDING AT DEMING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (DMN). THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AFTER TAKEOFF FROM DMN AT 1330 LOCAL, WHEN THE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO DMN AND PERFORMED A SUCCESSFUL GEAR-UP LANDING. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED FOR THE PRIVATE FLIGHT. NEITHER OF THE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED ANY INJURY. THE PILOT HOLDS A MULTIENGINE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE, AND THE AIRCRAFT OWNER/SECOND PILOT HOLDS A PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE WITH MULTIENGINE LAND RATING. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM DEMING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AT APPROXIMATELY 1330 LOCAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
