## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING TAKEOFF FROM A TRAILER, PRIOR TO COMMENCING AERIAL APPLICATION OPERATIONS, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A GUST OF WIND FROM THE LEFT CAUSING AN UNCOMMANDED YAW TO THE LEFT, THE RIGHT SKID OF THE HELICOPTER BECAME LODGED UNDER THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE TRAILER. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED TO THE LEFT, FLIPPING THE TRAILER OVER AND SIMULTANEOUSLY SPUN APPROXIMATELY 110 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON ITS LEFT SIDE FACING THE INVERTED TRAILER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. THE PILOT WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT RECEIVED A MINOR SCRATCH ON HIS FOREHEAD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA104](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA104), May 23, 2005: Hiller UH-12E (N3030H), Estacada, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the pilot to maintain landing skid clearance during hover taxi, which resulted in a dynamic rollover. A factor was the gusty wind condition.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
