## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THE AFTERNOON OF 24 MAY, 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 1520 LOCAL TIME, THE PILOT COMMENCED A VFR APPROACH TO RUNWAY 17 AT JENNINGS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT IN JENNINGS, LA. ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT SUBMITTED BY THE PILOT, HIS APPROACH WAS INITIATED FROM A RIGHT BASE ENTRY AFTER LISTENING ON THE CTAF FREQUENCY AND LOOKING FOR TRAFFIC IN ALL FOUR QUADRANTS. THE REMAINDER OF THE APPROACH WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL THE LANDING FLARE. AT THAT MOMENT, AS THE CESSNA 150 WAS TOUCHING DOWN, THE G-164D (AG CAT) AIRCRAFT LANDED ON TOP AND FROM THAT MOMENT ON, THE TWO AIRCRAFT WERE JOINED TOGETHER AS THEY VEERED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05LA134](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05LA134), May 24, 2005: Cessna 150F (N7878F), Jennings, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of both pilots to maintain adequate visual lookout, which resulted in a midair collision while on final approach.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
