THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE PILOT AND SOLE OCCUPANT, SUFFERING ONLY MINOR INJURIES, OF N401KY AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. N401KY IS OWNED BY THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND IS CERTIFICATED AS AN EXPERIMENTAL KIT BUILT AIRCRAFT, THE MANUFACTURER AND MODEL IS LISTED AS A STODDARD HAMILTON, GLASSAIR II FT, SERIAL NUMBER 2083. THERE WAS INDICATION THAT THE WING FUEL TANKS CONTAINED FUEL AS THE FOLIAGE AT THE ACCIDENT SITE WAS DISCOLORED, ALSO THE FUSELAGE "HOPPER" TANK CONTAINED FUEL. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA05LA111](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA05LA111), May 27, 2005: Hamilton Stoddard Glassair II S (N401KY), Palm City, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Improper maintenance by other maintenance personnel, which resulted in the throttle cable being loose and detaching from the throttle arm during takeoff, resulting in a loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
