## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED RUNWAY 32. AFTER GAINING ONLY ABOUT 100', PILOT REPORTED THAT THE WATER TEMPERATURE WAS 230 DEGREES. PILOT TURNED RIGHT TO RETURN TO AIRPORT AND STARTED LOSING POWER JUST AFTER TURNING DOWNWIND. PILOT STATED THAT HE FELT SUDDEN DROP IN POWER, HE STATED THAT HE DIDN'T THINK AIRPLANE WAS HOLDING ALTITUDE. MOMENTS LATER PILOT DECIDED TO PUT AIRPLANE DOWN IN A FIELD INSTEAD OF RISKING POWERLINES RUNNING ALONG RTE. 67.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
