## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) N521JH, AN EXPERIMENTAL S-7 COURIER AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED AS THE RESULT OF AN OFF FIELD LANDING IN A CONSTRUCTION SITE LOCATED WITHIN THE MOSCOW, IDAHO CITY LIMITS. THIS AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATED BY THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A PRIVATE PILOT AND OWNER OF N521JH. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A PASSENGER DURING THE OFF-FIELD LANDING. THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO THE TRICYCLE LANDING GEAR BEING SHEARED OFF OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE MOSCOW, IDAHO POLICE DEPARTMENT DESCRIBED THE LANDING SITE AS AN EXTENSION OF AN EXISTING ROAD OF PLOWED DIRT LOCATED WITHIN A CONSTRUCTION SITE. WITNESSES TO THE INCIDENT REPORTED THE AIRPLANE LANDED VERY HARD THEN BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR. THE AIRPLANE THEN VIRTUALLY STOPPED IN MID-AIR AND CAME DOWN VERTICALLY WHEN THE LANDING GEAR DAMAGE OCCURRED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
