## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY ^ LANDED LONG ON RUNWAY 24 AT HYA TO AVOID A LONG TAXI TO THE FBO. HE LANDED AND CONTINUED ONTO THE OVERRUN. HE DID NOT REALIZE THAT PART OF THE OVERRUN ON RUNWAY 24 WAS CONSTRUCTED OF ENGINEERED MATERIAL ARRESTING SYSTEM (EMAS). HE TAXIED TO THE FBO WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. HE STATED THAT THE AIRPLANE TAXIED NORMALLY AND THAT HE DID NOT KNOW THAT THE SURFACE THAT HE TAXIED ON WAS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A NORMAL AIRPORT SURFACE. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE WAS REPORTED TO THE EMAS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR AIRPLANE DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
